Sr. Public Relations Manager
A senior public relations manager is responsible for supervising the overall media presence and brand awareness of a company within various communication platforms. Senior public relations managers coordinate with the marketing team to promote the brand image on social platforms and reach the target audience by creating engaging content and digital assets. They also identify brand endorsers, such as models and celebrities, if the budget permits, to grow more customers and meet the public demands. A senior public relations manager monitors the sales performance and transactions within the company and adjusts PR plans as needed
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Works with Sr. Director, Media Relations Director and junior staff members to develop and manage public relations, publicity and media relations campaigns
- Drafts alerts, releases, briefing docs, presentations, activity reports and other PR materials
- Maintains relationship with Cision and other departmental vendors, measures impact of various campaigns, puts together clip books with metrics and strategic overview
- Develops local media relationships, drives ongoing event promotion and supports national outreach
- Crafts story ideas and pitches in collaboration with the Media Relations Director
- Fields and evaluates incoming media requests, recommends or declines opportunities
- Supports interdepartmental relationships and handles over the transom requests as they arise
- Conducts research and packages background for special assignments
- Works closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensures smooth working relationships
- Identifies new resources and provide insights into industry or consumer trends
- Represents the overall brand at industry and media-oriented events
- Manages and monitors summer interns and volunteers as required
- Researches and compiles clip reports, and other presentation materials
- Contributes to the overall campaigns and provides supplemental support where needed
- Assist team in planning and executing media or VIP events
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in PR/Communications, Journalism, English, Business or related field
- 5-7 years of experience
- Ability to plan and execute the full spectrum of PR tactics and strategies
- Highly collaborative, team oriented and helps to create a positive working environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of latest tools of the trade, technologies and other communications resources
- Knowledge of local and national outlets (print, online, electronic, etc.)
- Knowledge of online tools such as SurveyMonkey, AskNicely, a plus
- Experience with digital and social media platforms
- Experience of working with and developing content for a range of channels, including web, social media, print and broadcast media
- Ability to track activities, budgets and facilitating reports
- Ability to research and compile clip reports, and other presentation materials
- Ability to Craft story ideas and pitches in collaboration with the Media Relations Director
- Ability to manage and monitor summer interns and volunteers as needed
- Ability to be Proactive, deadline oriented and proficient at time and task management
- Ability to be Innovative, creative and resourceful to take the necessary steps to make things happen
- Ability to build and maintain key relationships with strong social media presence
- Ability to understand analytics and data-driven PR tactics, secondary/primary research
- Ability to deliver effective presentations to diverse audiences along with prior experience of planning and delivering training for/to colleagues
- Strategic thinker and planner, able to grasp complex and intellectually challenging ideas and communicate them to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
