Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk/Driver

Department: Warehouse

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

Pick up and deliver material (mail, packages, product & equipment).

Load and unload containers and trucks.

Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

Routes items to departments.

Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Operates forklift truck or uses manual and electric pallet jacks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Must have a valid driver’s license to Drive company van and bobtail truck.

Set up and break down equipment and product for meetings and venues in conferences.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk long and short distances; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, go up and down stairs. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
