Safety Officer
This position is responsible for the protection of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors of The Potter’s House and T. D. Jakes Ministries.
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Perform safety patrols and enforce TPH’s badge procedures to staff, contractors and visitors;
- Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents;
- Effectively investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations utilizing the safety reporting system;
- Provide safety assistance to customers, employees and visitors;
- Maintain order and crowd control if needed;
- Complete interior and exterior building checks, ensure lights are on and off as required and doors are secured;
- Ability to deal with unpredictable crisis situations;
- Report any malfunctioning doors, lights, etc. to facilities team via online web help desk;
- Remain informed about upcoming events via the weekly event schedule;
- Create and distribute staff and contractor badges as needed;
- Ability to operate radios and display radio etiquette when in use across teams;
- Effectively communicate COVID protocols if needed;
- Serve as a training officer to new safety staff, and perform other related duties as assigned by the security management team;
- Provide safety coverage at TPH campuses or facilities as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, plus one year of safety/law enforcement experience.
- At least one year of safety/law enforcement experience.
- Must have a valid driver license and be able to travel between Dallas and Ft. Worth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Reliable and trustworthy team member, with a strong understanding of confidential awareness as appropriate.
- Knowledge of security operations and safety practices in a business environment regulated by enforcement procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
- Good knowledge base of Dallas and Ft. Worth community resources.

Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Rotating schedule Sunday-Saturday 5:00am-11:00pm (Must be able to travel between Dallas and Ft. Worth)
