Jenee Salako:

Jazz & African

Jenee’ Salako started her journey in dance at the age of six. She performed and studied with the Buffalo Contemporary School of Dance in New York, leading her to attend the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts where she graduated with a diploma in dance. Another attribute that contributed to her love for dancing was her invitation to join the Ujima Theater Company where dancing, acting, and singing were incorporated throughout her seven year journey with the company. Mrs. Salako has also studied with the Inner City Ballet Company under the direction of Marvin Askew, where she furthered her ballet technique leading her to perform in the Nut Cracker at the University of Buffalo State College. Throughout her dance career Jenee’ has had the opportunity to study many different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, and several styles of Afro-Caribbean technique. Currently Mrs Salako enjoys instructing the Destiny World Dance team at The Potters House of Dallas. She utilizes her training in ballroom dancing as a Teaching Artist at Dancing Classrooms of North Texas.
