The Pastor’s Cabinet is designed to groom leaders and help individuals work collaboratively in diverse organizational settings. Enhancing communication skills, learning to assign tasks and developing team-building skills are important elements of this goal. Additionally, better understanding of one’s self (e.g., learning style, values, aspirations, biases, etc.) and learning to submit to the Spirit of God under stressful circumstances are the keys to the development of effective leaders. These actions are the central themes of meetings which are held quarterly. Bishop T. D. Jakes developed The Pastor’s Cabinet to empower the leadership of The Potter’s House. Team-building exercises and updates on policies and procedures continue to strengthen our leadership core. Fellowship and unity are experienced at the meetings. Ministry highlights are also shared in an effort to keep leaders informed about the many services provided through our church. Every quarter, all directors, their assistants and team leads are encouraged to gather for a 4-hour conference. Breakfast is provided as individuals enjoy interacting with each other in an informal setting. Ideas and concepts are exchanged to promote excellence in ministry. Pertinent questions asked by leaders during the Q & A session always provoke thought and challenge our methods to be more effective and purposed. Our leaders are appreciated and every gift is needed to accomplish the vision God has placed on the heart of our Bishop.
