STATEMENT FROM BISHOP JAKES REGARDING PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA It is with my most sincere thanks and gratitude that I congratulate our 44th president of the United States of America, President-elect Barack Hussein Obama, on his historic campaign and victory. Operating a campaign that many pundits deemed not worthy, unrealistic and not politically viable, President-elect Obama achieved against all odds what few thought he could. In doing so, he encouraged, validated and gave inspiration to not only the people of the United States of America, but to the people of our world. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Sen. John McCain who fought the good fight until the very end. The world needs Sen. McCain and I am hopeful that he will stay vigilant and active in public service. Congratulations again President-elect Obama. May God bless you and strengthen you as you embark on a historic journey.
