A New Multi-Generational Community opens in Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex

DALLAS—This Saturday, what started as the vision of Bishop T.D. Jakes will come to fruition during the public unveiling of Capella Park. The premise of educational advancement, neighborhood development and cultural expansion now represents a viable partnership between The Metroplex Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) founded by Bishop T.D. Jakes and developer, Arcadia Realty.

This new urbanism concept will be presented to the Dallas community at the grand opening festival which will feature family-themed activities and showcase the newly built community anchored by Clay Academy, a state-of-the art, Christ-centered private school.

“Capella Park offers the Dallas community the opportunity to embrace traditional living with an urban flair. Capella Park reinvigorates the concept of “New Urbanism” by addressing accessibility, accommodation and community in a neighborhood that is convenient to many locations in the Metroplex,” said Dr. Dwight Fennell, executive director of project development for The Potter’s House.

The collaboration of community leaders, corporations and builders has resulted in the development of a community in which its residents and constituents can be proud.

Bill Gietema, CEO of Arcadia Realty, adds, “We have worked for six years with the best architects, engineers, and homebuilders in the country to deliver a state of the art traditional neighborhood. Capella Park is multi-generational, mixed-use, traffic calm, and pedestrian safe. In an age of anonymous subdivisions, Capella Park will stand out as a place where families can live together and friends can grow old in fellowship.”

The festival, to be held between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Capella Park will share with the surrounding community a tour of the first six homes constructed by esteemed builders David Weekley Homes, Cambridge Homes and Ryland Homes.  The builder, LiveWork Lifestyles will also be introducing LiveWork housing to the community. Sponsors and partners in attendance will include: AT&T, James Hardie, Bank of America, Home Depot, Home Team Pest Defense, DuPure International and G Z Insulation.

Shuttle transportation will be provided from The Potter’s House south parking lot to the
development site.
