The Potter's House

The Potter's House is a nondenominational church,
located in the southern sector of Dallas, Texas, that was
founded in 1996. In just over seven years, The Potter's
House grew from 50 families to more than 28,000 members
who step out in force, inspired and spiritually armed by
Bishop T.D. Jakes to help others in their communities and
across the world. Christian Today and The Dallas Morning
News tag The Potter's House church as one of the
fastest growing churches in the nation.
Church Demographics:
The Potters House, as of December, 2002, is the vibrant
home of over 28,000 members from this multicultural city
and across a wide breadth of The Dallas/Forth Worth area.
It currently houses these percentiles:
77% African-American
13% Caucasian
7% Hispanic
3% Other comprised of 17 different nationalities.
Men comprise 45% of the total congregation a male
involvement unusually high for a mostly minority church.
The church brings together the down and out - the homeless
and released offender to sit beside the up and coming
the celebrity and community leader. They worship
and serve together in one or more of the 59 different ministries
within the church, including GED/literacy programs, AIDS
outreach, the homeless in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, male
mentorship, a debutante program for young ladies, and one
of the nations largest and fastest growing prison
ministry with a Prison Satellite Network Broadcasting to
over 260 prisons in the land.
The Potters House is currently one of the largest
churches in the nation. Christianity Today quotes it as
"one of Americas fasting growing churches"
which grew from only 50 families in May, 1996 to over 28,000
members, as of December 2002!
