Pastor Jimmie Thomas
Jimmie Thomas - musician, psalmist, prolific song writer,
recording artist, received his license as a Minister
of the Gospel in October, 1992 from the New Light Missionary
Baptist Church and was ordained as an Elder in August
1996 from Mt. Zion Baptist Church, both in Greensboro,
North Carolina. Jimmie studied Communications and Music
at North Carolina A&T State University and Biblical
Studies at Jacksonville Theological Seminary in Greensboro,
North Carolina.
Jimmie Thomas came to the Potter’s House in Dallas,
Texas from Bishop T.D. Jakes’ former church located
in Charleston, West Virginia, (Temple of Faith Ministries),
where he held the position of Minister of Music. He
serves as an Associate Pastor at the Potter’s
House and is the Worship Leader both for the Potter’s
House and T. D. Jakes’ national conferences. As
an Associate Pastor at the Potter’s House, Jimmie
provided pastoral leadership for the New Member Relations
Department, Greeter’s Ministry, Usher Board, Music
Department, and the Nation of Jesus Support Group and
presently oversees the Deacon Ministry, Volunteer Department,
Potter’s Institute and Transformation Ministry.
Each year, Pastor Jimmie conducts musical workshops,
leadership training, revivals and evangelistic services
throughout the country. In December of 2000 his ministry
expanded to Africa as well as Bermuda and Canada in
2001. God’s anointing on his life has afforded
him the opportunity to write songs for such artist as
The Potter’s House Choir, John P. Kee, Edwin Hawkins
and to record several projects. Among them, “A
Brand New Life,” “Love God’s Greatest
Commandment,” and “Jesus Will Set You Free”
featuring the Triad Miracle Choir. He appeared as a
worship artist on T.D. Jakes’ latest release,
“Run to the Water, The River Within.” Pastor
Jimmie’s latest musical work is with his newly
formed male praise and worship group “Signature”
entitled “Signature Live”.
He has served as a counselor to married couples, at
risk teenagers, and to other pastors and ministry leaders.
Having ministered nationally and internationally, Pastor
Jimmie has a deep passion for prison ministry. His powerful
anointing has led him to minister in prisons nationwide
such as San Quentin in California and Angola Louisiana.
His upcoming musical projects will be distributed in
prisons as well as throughout the country.
Pastor Jimmie has a heart for God and is faithful to
the callings God has placed upon his life. He has an
uncanny love and passion for hurting people and his
songs, messages and teachings all touch the lives of
those who witness his ministry.
In September 2000, Pastor Jimmie founded RISE World-Wide
Enterprises. The telecommunication company is located
in Dallas, Texas. RISE offers a state of the art Internet
service and long distance products specializing in non-traditional
fundraising for churches and organizations.
